Save Sterling guide
Cashback timing and voucher codes
How cashback usually moves from pending to payable, why unapproved voucher codes can break tracking, and where to compare UK cashback providers.
Pending is not money in your pocket
Most UK cashback providers show a tracked purchase as pending first. Pending means the shop or the provider is still checking the order. It is not the same as money you can withdraw.
After that, a claim may move to confirmed or payable under the provider’s own rules. Timing varies by retailer and by provider. There is no universal payout deadline, and Save Sterling does not guarantee that cashback will be approved or paid.
Unapproved voucher codes can void tracking
Cashback sites such as Quidco and TopCashback often warn that using a voucher code they have not approved can stop cashback from tracking. An outside code that looks helpful at checkout can still leave you with no cashback later.
If you care about cashback, check the provider’s merchant terms before you enter a code. If the terms are unclear, treat cashback as uncertain and compare the final basket price without counting it.
Choosing a cashback provider
Rates, exclusions, waiting periods and withdrawal rules differ between providers. Save Sterling does not pay cashback itself and does not pick a permanent winner for every shop.
Compare the rate, the exclusions and how long a claim stays pending on the provider’s own page. Then read the retailer’s checkout total. A higher headline rate is not a saving if an unapproved code stops tracking. It is also not a saving if another shop is cheaper before cashback.
What Save Sterling will not claim
We do not invent a fixed number of days for every retailer. We do not promise that a code and cashback will work together. Example offers on this site cannot be claimed while affiliate tracking is on hold.
Always check the final price and the provider’s current terms. If something is labelled Example only, it is layout only — not a live saving.
When affiliate programmes are open, labelled links on Save Sterling may earn us a commission and help keep the site free. This guide does not link to a retailer. Example offers cannot be claimed. How we stay free.
